What we do 2020 > ASEAN Region > COVID-19 India > PJHRF
Our motto in life is ‘If you think it, you can do it’ and if we all apply that thought we can end hunger the world over.”
IHRC and PJHRF a social organisations have come forward to provide Food, Ration Kit, Sanitizers, Mask to daily wagers, homeless and other people affected by the curfew imposed in India in view of the coronavirus pandemic.
DR ARIF NASIR BUTT MNVC and Peace Ambassador of IHRC India feel that as human beings, it's our responsibility to help the most vulnerable amongst us in their time of need. We appeal to all citizens of India to join in our efforts. We also request the state government to put in place a safety net for those who have lost work during the lockdown,"
The decision, although necessary, wasn't inclusive of many marginalised sections of the society like daily wage labourers, the homeless population, beggars, slum-dwellers, several low-income groups as well as the elderlies who live alone. Also, as we enter the lockdown phase it is becoming increasingly evident that the true challenge for such people won't be to evade the coronavirus but just to get enough food to stay alive.
