COVID-19: IHRC Bangladesh Holds Awareness Programme
The metropolitan city of Rajshahi experienced increased outbreaks of the novel Coronavirus in recent times, causing more pain and endangering the lives of the most vulnerable groups.
The International Human Rights Commission in Bangladesh has adopted a plan to awaken awareness of the people in this current wave by organizing sensitization programs in nine Upazilas of the Rajshahi District.
A statement issued by IHRC Peace Ambassador Elias Siraj Sir and co-signed by the Zonal Co-ordinator Taz Mohammad in Bangladesh disclosed that the awareness program has become imperative to educate the general public and help curtail the fast spread of the virus. In view, awareness vests and masks were distributed among day laborers, van drivers, and common people in Godagari Upazilas of Rajshahi District.
The awareness program was attended by the International Human Rights Commission Team Leader of Godagari Upazila and General Secretary of Bangladesh; Muktiyuddha Mancha Godagari, Upazila Branch Md; Walidur Rahman (Maruf).
Others who participated were indigenous members including Shahidul Islam Kishore, Jihad, Zahid, Sajal, and Sihab.
“It is hoped that the coronavirus awareness program will be completed in the remaining Upazilas in the next few days", Taz hinted.
